The summers here average about 100 degrees everyday. Evenings cool to about 80 degrees. Nights cool down to the mid 60′s. We’re considering installing ceiling fans in the rooms we use most (family room and bedrooms). Would they really help cut costs on our electricity bill? How much does it cost (on average) to run a ceiling fan?

Our average electricity bill is about $150 per month and that’s with setting out thermostat to 78 degrees.

i have a red and white wires connected to the light, but, i see a bundle of black wires taped together not hooked to anything. do i use one of these as my ground.the fans i bought have a black,blue,white and green wire i can figure them out but i don’t see a copper ground coming from the ceiling
